GasHead

From 2003-2005, GasHead released some of the coolest, unique instrumental rock on the CD's LandSpeedRecord and Knuckles Avec Sombreros. Popularity inched forward even as critics found plenty pleasing in the efforts. In 2007, the band took a fairly sharp turn and turned their backs on the instrumental circuit and dedicated themselves to shredding the universe with the help of vocal foil Josh Purdy. Subsequent releases, The Isolationist and Seething Apparatus [EP] saw journalists and local music fans gushing over what GasHead had become...a tightly wound ball of progressive thrash that gave no hint at their limits and allowed a wider than normal berth for influences. Technical, intelligent, and aware of what they hold in their hands, GasHead is currently hitting another level with its new material, specifically, the songs Downpour, The Fatalist, and Skeletal (on which guitar great and ex-Megadeth Chris Poland plays leads). GasHead has been asked to play Glastonbury (for which we declined...$$$) and opened up for Mike's guitar hero George Lynch in 2005, but the Chris Poland connection has been the sweetest.
